Frank and Mary Etta (Teeple) Russell family
Frank Russell married Mary Etta Teeple on
December 02, 1898 at Deford, Michigan. Mary was usually called Meta - a contraction of her full
name; she had been born in Vittoria, Ontario on June 04, 1877. Her parents were Owen and Sarah
(Severance) Teeple. She did not live a long life - after bearing 5 children she died in a Flu
epidemic at Port Huron on February 23, 1910.
Frank was born November 20, 1877. His birth certificate identified him as Frank Winfred Russell,
born Riley Twp., St. Clair Co., MI. His father was John Russell, age 23, born Woodstock, Oxford Co.,
Ontario, Canada. His mother, Sarah Jane Pratt, age 19, born St. Clair Co., MI. This was a
delayed filing on 11/19/1943 - the interesting note is that his mother was listed as one of the attestations
to the correctness of the information, along with a neighbor and his 1898 marriage license. There is
evidence, however, that he may have actually been born at Sanilac County.
